Frequently asked questions

Straight answers about how Fueli's AI meal planner works, what it can and can't do, and how the free and premium tiers differ.

Fueli is an AI meal-planning app for iOS. You set your calorie and protein goals, dietary restrictions, allergies, cooking skill, and budget once, and Fueli generates a full day of meals built around those targets — each meal is generated to land within ±50 kcal of its target, not a rough estimate.

No. Fueli is for general wellness and informational purposes. It's not a substitute for professional medical or dietary advice — talk to a doctor or registered dietitian before making significant changes to your diet, especially with a medical condition or allergy.

You can set allergies, dietary restrictions, and disliked ingredients, and the AI takes them into account when generating meals. That said, AI-generated suggestions can occasionally be wrong — always double-check ingredients yourself, especially for severe or life-threatening allergies.

Premium members get a smart grocery list built automatically from any single day or the whole week's meal plan, with ingredients combined across meals so you're not buying the same item multiple times. See our full breakdown on the auto grocery list page.

Yes. Swapping a meal replaces it with an alternative picked to still land within your remaining calorie and protein budget for the day, so a swap never blows up your daily targets. You can also swap in one of your own saved favourite meals instead of a new AI suggestion.

Yes — Fueli builds every plan around the calorie and protein goal you set, so it works the same whether that goal reflects a deficit for weight loss, a surplus for muscle gain, or maintenance. See our dedicated weight loss and muscle gain pages for how to set those goals.

Yes, Premium supports a household size setting — meal plans and grocery lists scale ingredient quantities to the number of people you set, rather than assuming a single serving.

No — it's entirely optional. Fueli works fully without it. If you do connect it, Fueli reads your weight, height, steps, and active energy, and writes calories, protein, carbs, fat, and fiber from logged meals back into Health. You choose what to share, and can disconnect at any time from iOS Settings.

You can scan a barcode on packaged food to log anything you eat outside the plan, using a public nutrition database for accurate data, or log food manually. Both fold into your daily calorie and protein totals alongside your planned meals.

Free gives you one AI-generated meal plan per day, 3 meal swaps per day, barcode and manual food logging, and progress analytics, with every 3rd plan generation requiring a short rewarded ad. Premium removes ads entirely, gives you a fresh plan every day, 6 swaps per day, a full 7-day weekly view, smart grocery lists, a saved-favourites tab, and plans that learn from your feedback.

No. The free tier is usable indefinitely with no account limits — Premium is an optional subscription, billed and cancellable through the App Store, for anyone who wants unlimited daily plans, more swaps, and smart grocery lists.
